Galp, the Portuguese energy company, has trusted our technology to power one of its ultrafast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).

As part of the "Second Life Batteries" project, a system using repurposed electric vehicle batteries has been installed to enhance charging capacity, reduce reliance on the power grid, and extend the useful life of these critical components.

An Energy Storage System Designed for Ultrafast Charging Hubs

At the heart of the project is our BCube® system, a containerized energy storage solution with 368 kWh of installed capacity, connected to two 180 kW EV chargers. Thanks to this setup, the station can charge up to nine vehicles consecutively while drawing minimal power from the grid.

This type of installation is key for ultrafast EV charging in areas with limited grid availability—eliminating the need for costly electrical upgrades.

The BCube® system helps:

📌 Minimize peak energy demand
📌 Increase operational autonomy of the charging hub
📌 Reduce the environmental impact of battery lifecycle

A Scalable and Easily Replicable Solution

This project features a modular, scalable storage system that can be easily replicated across other EV charging stations. Its adaptability to different power and space requirements makes it a benchmark model for electromobility infrastructure.
